How long can I wear my Synthetic Dreads?

Synthetic Dreads can be worn for about 2 months. Do you want to wear them a little longer? Make sure you let them sit for a maximum of 3 months. That's because you lose about 80-100 hairs per day and this all stays in your roots. You comb these loose hairs out of your hair when you have removed the dreads. The longer you wear the Dreads, the more loose hair will be released and the greater the chance that that loose hair will get tangled in your own hair. This makes combing out very difficult.

To prevent frizz on your own hair, a nightcap is recommended to wear while sleeping. The nightcap protects your roots and your hair from frizziness.

Do not wet your Dreads more often than once a week. The Dreads absorb a lot of moisture making them heavier, this ensures that your dreads can sag. The more often you wet your Dreadlocks, the sooner they will sag.

Do you want to take a nice shower, but not get your Dreads wet? Then use our Showercap, which is big enough for a large bunch of Dreads.
